The diplomat’s body was flown back from his home in Switzerland on Monday ahead of a state funeral and private burial in Accra on Thursday. Nobel peace laureate Annan, who was the world body’s first leader from sub-Saharan Africa, died aged 80 on August 18 after a short illness. His coffin, draped in Ghana’s red, green and gold flag, was guarded by senior military officers in ceremonial uniform at the Accra International Conference Centre. D'banj's son - Daniel Oyebanjo III died after he drowned in a swimming pool at the family residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State. Here is a photo of D'banj posing beside the swimming pool in his house. The customized swimming pool has D'banj's signature logo, DB, engraved at the bottom. The music star had taken to his Instagram page on April 1st to post this photo of himself standing beside the pool. It can't be confirmed right now if this is the same swimming pool where his son's tragic death occurred. The singer was in the United States of America when he received the devastating news.

Nigerian pop star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, on Sunday won the 2018 BET Award for Best International Act. Davido, who was present to receive his plaque for Best International Act took time out to send condolences to Dbanj, who lost his 1-year-old son, Daniel on Sunday, June 24. Davido said: “Before I go on, I want to send condolences to my big brother, the actual artiste that paved the way for Nigerian artistes to be on this stage," he said. "D'banj, my condolences are with you, you’re my brother." Davido also used the opportunity to promote African culture, calling on Americans to “come to Africa, eat the food, wear the clothes”. Davido was nominated alongside fellow Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, South African rapper Cassper Nyovest, British rappers Stormzy, J Hus and Stefflon Don, French-Congolese singer Dadju, and a host of others.
