Soyinka and Obasanjo Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on Wednesday knocked President Muhammadu Buhari for doing little to stop killings by herdsmen amid the general insecurity in the country, according to a report by Punch. Naira notes   The Naira on Wednesday exchanged at N359.80 to the dollar at the parallel market in Lagos gaining 20 kobo from N360 exchanged on Tuesday.   The Pound Sterling and the Euro, however, closed at N482 and N419, respectively.   At the Bureau De Change (BDC) segment, the naira traded at N360 to the dollar, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro exchanged at N482 and N419, respectively.   Trading at the investor’ window saw the naira close at N360.91 to the dollar, while it exchanged at N305.75 at the CBN official window.   Traders said they expected the naira to remain stable as the CBN continues its interventions at the foreign exchange market.

The Ojuelegba bridge has been a cause of sorrow for many people   On Tuesday, June 19, it was yet another tragedy on the popular Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos.   That evening, darkness descended on Lagos and the ever-boisterous Ojuelegba was gripped with its usual chaotic traffic, with people plying their trade amid the confusion. That was when a truck unleashed terror on the area, leaving in its wake death, injuries and agony.   The truck, which was heading towards the Fadeyi end of the bridge, reportedly lost control, emptying its heavy contents that included logs and plywood on innocent motorists and pedestrians. Three people were killed instantly, with others sustaining varying degrees of injury.   The fatalities would have been higher if not for proactive passersby that made spirited efforts to rescue those trapped under the debris.   Incidents of container-laden trucks or other articulated vehicles crushing people to death on or underneath the Ojuelegba Bridge

A tanker laden with petrol has exploded on the popular Otedola bridge axis of Berger, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.   The fire outbreak   According to multiple online reports, a fuel-laden tanker has exploded along the Otedola Bridge axis of Berger in the commercial city of Lagos with the blaze engulfing many other vehicles.   A Twitter, @seunomis who shared some photos wrote:  "Guys a tanker just freaking caught fire beside first Oando filling station LAGOS IBADAN EXPRESSWAY 3 seconds after passing it. Lagos Ibadan about to be blocked AF!"     Another user, @olucheye wrote:  "Guys LAGOS IBADAN, around OTEDOLA round about is a NO GO AREA. Ahmed Musa Leicester City have placed the transfer of Ahmed Musa on hold following his performance at the World Cup.   Musa spent the second half of last season on loan at his former club CSKA Moscow.   He was widely expected to leave Leicester City this summer after failing to impress since his £16m move to the club.   However, the club has now decided against selling the 25-year-old who is courting interest from Turkish giants Galatasary, Portuguese side Benfica, French side Olympique Marseille and also fellow Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.   OwnGoal quoted a member of Musa’s management team as saying that the player has been ordered by the club to resume for pre-season.   ”Musa won’t be leaving Leicester City immediately. They have backtracked on plans to sell him. He has been told to resume for pre-season, the club want to have a chat with him over his future,”  he said.

Slay Princess It has been reported that a female student of the Delta State Polytechnic has been caught stealing.   The young lady was promptly apprehended and made to serve embarrassing punishment by other students at the scene. She was tied up and poured dirty water while she sat on the ground.   Details about how she was caught are sketchy, however, local reports show that the unnamed woman had previously stolen as much as N250K from her friend. Luck ran out on her when she tried to steal again recently and she was nabbed.   Students raised alarm and she was surrounded. The young lady's fate is not known yet as at the time of filing this report. It is not known if she has been handed over to the police.   See more photos below:

Busayo and her baby According to a report by Punch Metro, the husband of a patient at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, Surulere, Mutiu Busari, has said his wife, Busayo, and their baby, Fikayo, have spent over four months in the hospital over unpaid medical bills.   The 32-year-old lamented that his family owed LUTH about N387,200 after Busayo was delivered of Fikayo through a caesarian section.   Mutiu said his wife went into labour on February 27, 2018,  after she was referred to LUTH from the Gbagada General Hospital.   “When we got to LUTH, we were told to do some tests and buy some drugs, which finished all my money. They did the CS the following day and our baby was safely delivered. My wife and baby were discharged on Saturday, March 17, and we were told to pay N61,000 for the drugs my family used from the pharmacy before they can give us the remaining bills. “I have paid N10,000 from the money. One of the reigning Nigerian singers and music producer, Tekno has given a sneak-peak to the life of luxury he is living at a young age.  Father of one, Tekno has shown off his car garage in a new photo which many have found intimidating.   The 25 year old captioned the black and white photo; "Future throwback". A recent Range Rover SUV and other exotic cars can be found in the garage.   Tekno who hails from the South-eastern part of Nigeria is one of the buzzing artistes representing multinational company, Pepsi.   Augustine Miles Kelechi popularly known by his stage name Tekno Miles or simply Tekno, is also a singer-songwriter, producer, performer and dancer.
