Wike Seeks Career Opportunities For Rivers Youths As D’Banj Visits

Pop star, Daniel Oyebanji (D’banj) with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and another artiste, Duncan Mighty at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Monday.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says the state government will work with ace musician, Daniel Oyebanjo known as D’banj to create opportunities for young musicians in the state.

Wike stated this on Monday while receiving D’banj at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

“We as a government will not fail to partner with you in whichever form that will help to empower the youths in the state,” he said.

According to the governor, musicians operating in the state are constrained with the opportunity to exhibit their talent at the international stage, reiterating his administration’s commitment to work with different international musicians and producers to resolve the challenge of opportunities.

“Part of the problems we have in this part of the world is the opportunities that our youths lack. Our youths don’t have the opportunities to showcase their potentials,” he stated.

Wike commended D’banj for contributing his own quota to the growth of the society by ensuring that youths are productive.

“Let me use this opportunity to thank you for what you are doing to empower the youths.  So many have had the opportunity you have but may not have used it to empower the youths. What you are doing is commendable and I urge you to continue,” he ended.

Responding, D’banj commiserated with the governor over the loss of the State’s Attorney-General, Emmanuel Aguma.

The Popular Musician also commended the governor for his developmental strides that have transformed the State.

On creation of music opportunities for the youths, the ‘Oliver Twist’ crooner informed Wike that he runs a music platform called CREAM which is  designed specifically to empower the youths and give them opportunities.

Dbanj, who was accompanied on the visit by Port Harcourt-based International Music Star, Duncan Mighty, later visited the Rex Lawson Cultural Centre in Port Harcourt.
