The shot suspect An alleged notorious and serial kidnapper widely known as 'General' was on Wednesday shot dead by officials of the Nigerian Police after a gun battle in Rivers community. The operatives of the Nigeria Police from the Anti Cultism Unit in Rivers State, have shot dead a notorious and serial kidnapper popularly known as 'General', in Omademe community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.   Multiple online reports reveal that the infamous hoodlum had been a terror in the community before a manhunt was launched by the security operatives in a bid to finally end his reign of terror in the oil-rich region.   He was reportedly killed in a gun battle with the security agents.   See more photos below;

Ekiti Poll: IGP Deploys 30,000 Police Personnel, Assures Residents Of Safety

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, has deployed 30,000 police personnel in Ekiti ahead of the governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 14. Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Jimoh Moshood, revealed this in a statement on Sunday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital. He said the police boss has directed that a robust and elaborate security arrangement be implemented in Ekiti to ensure peaceful, credible, free and fair election. According to Moshood, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Department of Operations has been deployed to the state and would be assisted by an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), four Commissioners of Police (CPs), eight Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), and 18 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), while each senatorial district would be manned by a CP.
