11-Year-Old Talented Nigerian Artist 'Kareem' Draws French President On The Spot (Video)

Master Kareem Olamilekan, 11, artistically drew a portrait of President Emmanuel Macron of France during his visit to the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos.
 
The event held to showcase and celebrate African culture was hosted by Nigerian artist and performer Banky W and Kenturah King.
 
President Macron praised and congratulated the talented boy on his official Presidential Twitter account
 
@EmmanuelMacron “Very touched, congratulations to this young boy."
 
Despite the pressure of drawing the President of France on the spot, Kareem completed the hyperrealist drawing In 2 hours, reports suggest.
 
The visiting President emphasised the importance of the shrine to the African culture.

“The Shrine is an iconic cultural hub. And I say with a lot of humility that I recognize the importance of African culture."
 
Also present at the event were Nigerian Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka and Veteran Nollywood actor and actress Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva.
 
The New Afrika Shrine is the venue of the annual Felebration Music Festival which is currently managed by Femi Kuti and Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti.

Ekiti Poll: IGP Deploys 30,000 Police Personnel, Assures Residents Of Safety

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, has deployed 30,000 police personnel in Ekiti ahead of the governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 14. Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Jimoh Moshood, revealed this in a statement on Sunday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital. He said the police boss has directed that a robust and elaborate security arrangement be implemented in Ekiti to ensure peaceful, credible, free and fair election. According to Moshood, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Department of Operations has been deployed to the state and would be assisted by an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), four Commissioners of Police (CPs), eight Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), and 18 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), while each senatorial district would be manned by a CP. Ahmed Musa and Abdullahi Shehu in Sokoto Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, has been pictured as he was mobbed by excited football fans after he arrived Sokoto earlier on Wednesday for a charity football match of his Nigerian teammate, Abdullahi Shehu.    Musa joined his closest pal in the national team, Shehu Abdullahi in Sokoto as they made cash food items donation to orphanages.
